Would be of course NOAH… I really can’t express in words just how much I LOVE this kid. He is the one of the best parts of my life. God knew exactly what He was doing when He blessed me with him (hhmmm imagine that though- God knowing what He’s doing..:)). I am blessed. It’s been nice since Tally has been in the picture, because Noah has started really wanting my time again. Before Taliah, he was so independent, that I thought I was never going to get a hug out of the guy again. But again, God knew what NOAH needed…Tally. Man, he just loves her- makes me wanna cry ;*). Well, back to where I was- Now at night when I’m putting Tally down, and Noah’s turning off the lights, he will stand there, all skinny legs and long eye lashed and ask in his soft ‘love me’ voice, “mommy, will you lay down with me.” To tell you the truth, this is where I sometimes feel like an over worked mom- I want to- but sometimes, I really just want to hit the showers and have quite time. But I know that these days are the “good ol days” right now and I really need to stop before getting ahead of myself and miss them- So after Tally falls asleep I climb up his ladder and snuggle….and actually….I love it- Peter does too- There’s a night light so we do shadow puppets sometimes, but mostly we practice, spelling words, memory verses, hymns, or just talk about anything. It’s sweet pillow talk. So, tonight as we made butterflies, mice, identify a knee and a foot, we talked about baptism.
I did not have him baptized as a baby, because in the bible the verse says, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved…”Mark 16:15 . For me one must BELIEVE and a baby can’t believe- children are taught how and who to love. It’ s our job to teach them about our Lord and Savor, and when they believe, they will ask, just as Noah has….”Mom was I baptized?” Great question Noah!
So that was tonight’s topic.
I try not to stay up there too long, just for the reason I could fall asleep and I don’t want to fall coming down that child ladder. Plus, we would end up talking all night, and he needs his rest as badly as I need my mommy time. But as I left him tonight I just had one of those moments, like they do with tv when they do playback of all the old episodes, and begain to think-
Noah, in his 7 years of life he know me as a dancer and a Pilates trainer, a God fearing women who, when she fell down got back up again, a mommy always looking for a kiss or a hug or the annoying mom who honks her horn when he gets out just to bug him
.
The funnest part about Noah lately, is since he’s in karate he’s working on his splits. Well not until the Mother Day’s workout did he even care to know that I KNOW HOW TO DO THE SPLITS! so now I’m “cool”. So, now when he comes to the studio he want to get on the reformer or use the magic rings to stretch those legs- and now it’s a conversation topic between he and I….
“mom, did you know how to do the splits from baton?”
“mom you know how to do the side splits.”
“mom, look how far I’ve gotten.”
aaawww the good ol days!
